Republican Nathan Deal Wins Re-Election in Georgia Governor's Race

Republican incumbent Nathan Deal overtook Democrat State Sen. Jason Carter in the Georgia gubernatorial race.

The final Public Policy Polling showed Deal up 47 to 43.

Deal, 72, has served as Georgia’s governor since 2011. While Jason Carter, 39, accused Deal of being entwined in ‘Washington politics,’ Carter himself received help from his grandfather: former president Jimmy Carter.
