Mark Zuckerberg Goes to Washington

What brings a Facebook CEO and $22 billion man to Washington? Apparently a search for more talented people in America, a.k.a. immigration reform.

Mark Zuckerberg stated in an interview at the Newseum Wednesday:

This isn’t a matter of trying to hire people instead of Americans who are doing this, we’ll hire all of them. The issue is there aren’t enough talented people who we can bring into the country and that is a real issue that people feel.

Zuckerberg helped launch the immigration reform site FWD.us in April. The site advocates increasing the number of H-1B visas in order to “attract the world’s best and brightest workers.”

Promoted policies also include securing the borders, creating pathways to citizenship and reforming the legal system to strengthen the American economy.

The Silicon Valley techie claimed he is neither Democrat nor Republican but rather “pro-knowledge economy.”

Thursday Zuckerberg is scheduled to meet with Capitol Hill members including Harry Reid (D-NV), John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.).
