Eyeroll: Trump Trashes Kamala Harris Over Her 2020 Promise To Charge Him If She Wins

President Trump responded to Sen. Kamala Harris’ (D-CA) threat of charging him if she won the 2020 election with a simple “give me a break” dismissing the senator’s claims as one of political desperation. Harris has not taken a commanding lead in the polls for her party’s nomination and her promise to prosecute Trump is straight red meat for the Democrat’s progressive base. It’s a predictable war cry, though one that the president admitted he would make…because he has. It still doesn’t make what Harris did any more hypocritical, as Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air noted. Still, it didn’t stop the president from torching the California Democrat and the state of her campaign thus far in that 20-deep clown car (via The Hill):

President Trump bashed Sen. Kamala Harris's presidential campaign after the California Democrat said her Justice Department would "have no choice" but to prosecute Trump if she were elected.

"Oh, give me a break. She’s running for president, she’s doing horribly, she’s way down in the polls," Trump said in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos broadcast Thursday.

"I must say, Pocahontas is really cleaning her clock," he added, referring to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) with a derisive nickname meant to mock her claims of Native American heritage.

Still, Trump acknowledged that he might adopt the same strategy if he were in Harris's position.

"I heard she made that statement," Trump said. "And you know what? Who wouldn’t? Probably if I were running in her position, I’d make the same statement."

So, “lock her up” becomes “lock him up.” Yeah, cue the eyerolls.
