Oh, So Russian Hackers Didn't Mess With The French Election

The Russians messed with our election. They allegedly colluded with Donald Trump’s campaign team to beat Hillary Clinton, though no evidence has been unearthed to back up that explosive claim. It has become, however, the perfect crutch for liberals who still cannot get over the fact that Clinton lost the 2016 election. The Kremlin, using state-funded news outlets, third party intermediaries, and social media trolls—tried to influence voters. The fake news and propaganda that flooded the scene play no pivotal role in the election—and the Russians didn’t hack the results either. What’s transpired since these allegations have been made is nothing short of tin foil madness from liberals, who peddle conspiracy theories. Even Hillary Clinton peddled one at the Recode Conference in California concerning the Russian collusion allegations. Yet, during the French presidential election, it was first reported that Russian hackers targeted Emmanuel Macron, who eventually won the contest.

The Daily Beast, The New York Times and International Business Times reported how the Macron campaign planted false information to fool would-be hackers. My God—it’s happening across the pond. The Kremlin is trying to flex its muscles through cyber warfare. Well, in the end, it wasn’t the Russians at all (via Reuters):

The head of the French government’s cyber security agency, which investigated leaks from President Emmanuel Macron’s election campaign, says they found no trace of a notorious Russian hacking group behind the attack.

In an interview in his office Thursday with The Associated Press, Guillaume Poupard said the Macron campaign hack “was so generic and simple that it could have been practically anyone.”

He said they found no trace that the Russian hacking group known as APT28, blamed for other attacks including on the U.S. presidential campaign, was responsible.

Even here, Hillary’s incessant blaming of the Russians, and others, has led some in the news media, like CNN’s John King, to offer some snarky jabs at the former first lady and two-time presidential loser. King recently joked that the Russians were responsible for cloaking Wisconsin, so that Hillary wouldn’t be able to find it.
