ICYMI: CNN Reporter Helps Stoners Light Up on NYE

CNN's track record of New Year's Eve shenanigans did not let up this year, even without Kathy Griffin

The network had a reporter ride on a ‘CannaBus’ in Denver, Colorado, on Sunday, not only sporting pot leaf earrings but actually helping revelers take bong hits.

Anderson Cooper, who was co-hosting "New Year’s Eve Live' with Andy Cohen, broke from the segment to get an update from reporter Randi Kaye.

He then informed viewers that in The Centennial State “where I guess recreational marijuana use,” he said before Cohen interjected, “She’s surrounded by weed” and wondered if she was going to get him his order.

“It's going great! I'm definitely earning the nickname Kush Kaye, that's for sure,” Kaye responded, noting that she brought a gas mask that had a bong attached to where the air filter should be.

“So listen, I came prepared this year,” she said. “I thought maybe I would bring a gas mask with me, so I wouldn't get that contact high. But look at what's on the other end of the gas mask. Yes, a bong! And of course, they couldn't stand to see a bong that didn't have any cannabis in it, so you actually put it in the bong.”

She proceeded to hand the mask off to one of the stoners and lit it for him.

“I don't think this is really what a gas mask is used for, but, wow! OK! This is New Year’s Eve Denver style,” Kaye shouted.

Cooper is seen on the split screen holding his hand up to his face in embarrassment, shaking his head.

“This is legal in Colorado,” Cooper said to Cohen.

Kaye then informed Cooper and Cohen they were headed to a “puff, pass, and paint” party next.
