Shutdown Looms: Trump Hosts Republicans and Dems at White House to Find a Deal

President Trump is hosting a major meeting at the White House Tuesday morning with lawmakers from both sides of the political aisle. The goal: to tackle the issue of illegal immigration.

The meeting comes just days ahead of a potential government shut down, with DACA at the center of negotiations.

Here is the list of attendees, provided by the White House.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, White House Chief of Staff General John Kelly, Senior Advisor Stephen Miller and Assistant the President Marc Short will also be in attendance.

Back on Capitol Hill, tensions are running high as Democrats continue to demand DACA in return for nothing.

The White House and Republicans have repeatedly laid out the terms for an agreement: DACA in return for an end to chain migration, the Diversity Visa Lottery Program and a border wall. Keep in mind a number of Democrats voted for the Secure Fence Act in 2006.
