UK Could Leave The European Union

In case you missed it last week, conservatives took home a huge win in the UK after crushing the Labour Party in elections across the board. For years, getting the UK out of the European Union and away from being economically held hostage, has often been discussed. Now, it may become a reality.

Prime Minister David Cameron, who was handily reelected last week, has already started the process. More from The Telegraph

David Cameron has already begun negotiations with his European counterparts over Britain's membership of the EU, it emerged last night as sources indicated that an in-out referendum could take place as early as next year.

Despite only being re-elected on Friday morning, Mr Cameron said that he has “already made calls” to other European leaders as he attempts to claw back powers from Brussels.

Last week, conservative Member of Parliament Daniel Hannan immediately suggested the referendum to leave the EU be passed so the UK can again "join the rest of the world."

It'll be interesting to see how the rest of Europe reacts. Believe it or not, the UK has far more in common with the United States than it does with the socialist countries of the continent. Now, if only the United States could leave the U.N....
