In an effort to find someone to blame for alleged police brutality in Baltimore and other cities around the country, CNN's Brooke Baldwin made the argument to Democrat Rep. Elijah Cummings on air yesterday that young veterans coming home from war "do battle" inside communities when they become police officers.
"All of these young people, and I love our nation's veterans, but some of them are coming back from war, they don't know the communities and they're ready to do battle," she said.
The good news is, after a series of excuses, she apologized.
I am sorry for what I said earlier about veterans. It was wrong and I apologize to anyone who was hurt by my comments.— Brooke Baldwin (@BrookeBCNN) April 28, 2015
