Hillary Clinton claims to be a staunch supporter of women and girls everywhere, but her record as Secretary of State tells a different story.
Lets start with the most recent revelations about Boko Haram, one of the most brutal terror groups in the world. Recent reports show Boko Haram extremists have kidnapped 300 schools girls in Nigeria, ranging in age from nine to thirteen, and has been threatening to sell them into slavery. Further, the terror group has been raping the girls while in captivity. Activists in the United States have been calling on the U.S. government to work with the Nigerian government to find them and get them back, Clinton included.

The problem? During her time as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton refused to designate Boko Haram as a terrorist group despite multiple pleas from Congress to do so. So much for "standing up to terrorism." An official terrorist designation from the State Department would have made it easier not only to possibly prevent the kidnappings, but to send help immediately when the incident occurred. The State Department under Hillary Clinton fought hard against placing the al Qaeda-linked militant group Boko Haram on its official list of foreign terrorist organizations for two years. And now, lawmakers and former U.S. officials are saying that the decision may have hampered the American government’s ability to confront the Nigerian group that shocked the world by abducting hundreds of innocent girls.

But Clinton's failure on behalf of our girls doesn't start or end with Boko Haram. Before leaving her position as Secretary in February of 2013, Clinton failed to hold people inside the State Department accountable for the abuse of young girls overseas, which means it will happen again. Take for example the case of a State Department security official stationed in Beirut who was accused of engaging in multiple sexual assaults, or the U.S. ambassador who was accused of regularly ditching his "protective security detail in order to solicit sexual favors from both prostitutes and minor children." Or how about the fact that many of Clinton's security detail were accused of regularly hiring young female prostitutes in foreign countries during official State Department trips.
A State Department whistleblower has accused high-ranking staff of a massive coverup — including keeping a lid on findings that members of then-Secretary Hillary Clinton’s security detail and the Belgian ambassador solicited prostitutes.
A chief investigator for the agency’s inspector general wrote a memo outlining eight cases that were derailed by senior officials, including one instance of interference by Clinton’s chief of staff, Cheryl Mills.
* A DS agent was called off a case against US Ambassador to Belgium Howard Gutman over claims that he solicited prostitutes, including minors.
“The agent began his investigation and had determined that the ambassador routinely ditched his protective security detail in order to solicit sexual favors from both prostitutes and minor children,” says the memo.
Further, women who dared to expose the alleged abuse of male diplomats were run out of town and intimidated. Those who repeatedly engaged in improper sexual activity were never held accountable.
In the latest black eye for the scandal-ridden State Department, a whistleblower claims she was run out of the foreign service after complaining about a consul general’s alleged office trysts with subordinates and hookers.
Kerry Howard says she was bullied, harassed and forced to resign after she exposed US Consul General Donald Moore’s alleged security-threatening shenanigans in the Naples, Italy, office.
As the post’s community-liaison officer, Howard was charged with keeping workplace peace and advising higher-ups on the state of morale, but when she revealed allegations about her boss, State Department officials swept it under the rug, according to an Equal Employment Opportunity complaint she filed with the department’s Office of Civil Rights.
“It’s cover-up after cover-up. It’s absolutely hideous,” she told The Post. “When our diplomats disrespect the Italians by hiring and firing them because they have seen too much — or use them for ‘sex-ercise’ — we have to question why we have diplomats abroad at taxpayer expense.”
Howard is just the latest whistleblower to allege that Hillary Rodham Clinton’s State Department allowed sexual misbehavior to continue unchecked.
Last week, The Post reported that Aurelia Fedenisn, an investigator at the department’s inspector-general office, wrote a memo outlining eight cases of supposed sexual misconduct, but that they were removed from an IG report.
These are just a few examples. Incidents like the ones detailed above were a regular, systematic occurrences under Clinton's watch.
One of the few things Clinton was good at during her time at the State Department was covering up the abuse of girls and the sexual misconduct of people working directly under her. Hillary Clinton can claim she stands up for girls around the world, but her actions and 'leadership' decisions during her time at the State Department tell a very different story.
