In case you missed the 60 Minutes report from Lara Logan about multiple Al Qaeda threats in Benghazi before the 9/11 attack on the U.S. consulate, check it out here. In her report, Logan shows it was very clear Al Qaeda had a strong and open presence in the city up to a year before the attack which left four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, dead.The warning signs previewing an attack on the United States came after multiple attacks on the British and the Red Cross. One of those attacks came in June of 2012 when an assassination attempt was made against British Ambassador Dominic Asquith. Another forgotten attack came on March 3, 2012, when Christian and Jewish graves in a British military cemetery were destroyed by Islamic terrorists. Chilling video footage shows militants destroying graves and repeatedly saying, "Allahu akbar."
The video, shot by the militia themselves, shows more than 30 armed men kicking down the gravestones of British servicemen while comrades use sledgehammers to break the cenotaph. "Break the cross of the dogs!" one man can be heard shouting as another soldier perches on a ladder to smash the cenotaph cross with a mallet.
The cemetery, near the eastern city of Benghazi, hold the remains of more than 100 British and Commonwealth servicemen who fought for Montgomery's Eighth Army in the second world war.
The State Department knew exactly what it was dealing with six months before the Al Qaeda attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi: radical Islamic terrorists wanting to kill Americans. They did nothing about it because after all, Barack Obama was running for re-election and told the world "Al Qaeda is on the run."
