A Reminder: Majority Support a Ban on Late-Term Abortions

The ban of late-term abortions after five months has been Texas law for nearly a week now and support for the law is still an overwhelming majority. More from Rich Lowry:

In Texas, a University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll found 62 percent of people support the ban. Nationwide, even a recent Huffington Post/YouGov poll found that 59 percent support a ban after 20 weeks. A Gallup poll late last year found that 64 percent think abortion should be illegal after 12 weeks.

These figures are important to keep in mind as the U.S. Senate gets ready to take a up legislation banning abortion after five months. As the majority of the country, and a majority of women, support this ban, extremist groups like Planned Parenthood and NOW are fighting to keep late-term abortion legal.
