EXCLUSIVE III: Gary Johnson Calls Taxes a 'Plague,' Backs Obamacare Repeal and Entitlement Reform

For disaffected conservative-leaning undecided voters who may have experienced frustration or exasperation over Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson's worldview on immigration and some social issues, perhaps this segment of our exclusive sit-down interview will assuage some concerns. Johnson repudiated his brief flirtation with a carbon tax (:30), assured viewers that he'd sign an Obamacare repeal bill "in a nanosecond" (2:12) and identified entitlement reform as the top fiscal imperative facing America's unsustainable budget (3:43).  And away we go with round three:

The former New Mexico governor called a "carbon fee" system attractive in theory, but unworkable and problematic in practice. He referred to taxes as "a plague." His opposition to Obamacare is deeply-rooted, although he seemed to be almost entirely unfamiliar with the existence of House Republicans' detailed replacement plan announced this summer. And he correctly noted that it's impossible to balance the US government's budget and mop up the long-term debt mess without reforming entitlement programs, attacking both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton for deliberately turning a blind eye to that reality -- adding that Clinton is actually calling for entitlement expansion.

Up next: The Second Amendment, gun control, foreign policy, and the Iran deal.
