Handful of Democrats Help Pompeo Get Confirmed as Secretary of State

Current CIA Director Mike Pompeo has been confirmed as our next secretary of state, earning the support of six Democrats and one Independent.

Pompeo graduated at the top of his class at West Point and attended Harvard Law School. He served as a representative from Kansas from 2011-2017 and was then appointed as CIA director by President Trump. He was nominated for secretary of state after the president dismissed Rex Tillerson.
