Planned Parenthood Responds: 'We’ve Never Said' All Our Centers Provide Prenatal Care

It’s hard to argue or explain away this new exposé on Planned Parenthood. The pro-life group Live Action, skeptical about the pro-abortion organization’s pledge that it provides prenatal care, launched an investigation to find out for themselves. After calling nearly 100 Planned Parenthood clinics around the country, they discovered that only five offered prenatal services. The rest of the clinics had no clue what they were talking about.

“Planned Parenthood offers abortions, so they don’t offer prenatal care,” was the response from several of the Planned Parenthood centers Live Action contacted.

When asked about the investigation, a Planned Parenthood spokeswoman told The New York Times that Live Action was just trying to smear them via unfair tactics, just as the Center for Medical Progress did with their undercover effort two years ago.

In an interview on Tuesday, Mary Alice Carter, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood, pointed out the group’s history of being targeted with selectively edited videos, and said that the new video, which was released on Monday, tried to hold the organization to a standard it had not set for itself.

“It is safe to say that not every single one of our health centers provides prenatal care, and we’ve never said otherwise,” Ms. Carter said.

Really? The idea that Planned Parenthood and its affiliates offer prenatal care has come straight from the mouth of the organization’s president, Cecile Richards.

“Folks depend on Planned Parenthood for prenatal care,” she said matter-of-factly at a political rally in 2011.

Richards is a pro at peddling falsehoods, also once claiming her organization offered mammograms. They don't - they refer them.

When Planned Parenthood is exposed as a fraud, they show no remorse. Instead, their representatives insist they are being unfairly targeted.

“This is obviously part of a continued campaign to try to discredit us even though investigation after investigation found no wrongdoing in any of our health centers,” Carter concluded.

Those "defund Planned Parenthood" calls are sounding pretty justified right now. On Friday, expect thousands to carry signs with that message at the March for Life in Washington, D.C.
