NYC's Bill de Blasio Earns 'Astonishingly Low' Approval Rating as New Mayor

It turns out New Yorkers don’t like it when their mayor pledges to ban horses in Central Park, or kick kids out of charter schools.

The results from the newest Quinnipiac University poll are in, and 90-day old Mayor Bill de Blasio’s job approval rating has already dropped. New Yorkers approve of the job he’s doing 45-34 percent, down from the 53-13 he scored in January. These numbers put his approval rating lower than both Police Commissioner William Bratton and City Comptroller Scott Stringer.

The New York Post's Bob McManus summed up the findings as such:

This is consistent with earlier surveys, and it is astonishingly low for a new mayor.

But de Blasio has been stepping in cow pies since he took his hand off the Bible on Inauguration Day. The consequences have ranged from minor embarrassments to the humiliating drubbing he’s now taking from Gov. Cuomo on education reform.

McManus also refers to De Blasio as “dumb” on more than one occasion, as well as accusing his administration of lacking “animation, imagination and energy.”

What’s more, De Blasio has all but proven he’s no friend of the unborn, of the wealthy or of safety.

Keep up the good work, sir.
