Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has completed his first round of chemotherapy and radiation, according to a tweet from his daughter, Fox News host Meghan McCain.

My father completed first round radiation/chemo. His resilience & strength is incredible. Fight goes on, here's to small wins.

Sen. McCain began treatment for glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, on July 31. He announced his diagnosis on July 19, to a stunned country who responded with an outpouring of bipartisan support. His cancer was discovered following a doctor's visit and a surgery to remove a blood clot from his eye.

Despite his diagnosis, McCain returned to Washington D.C. and gave a stirring speech in the Senate to a standing ovation. He then returned to Arizona to begin radiation and chemotherapy.

Our best wishes for a speedy recovery, Sen. McCain.
