Yesterday, Matt wrote about how Vice President Joe Biden is apparently planning on running for president in 2020. Real talk: the excitement over Biden's potential candidacy (despite the fact that he'd be well into his 80s if elected to two terms) is a symptom of just how far the Democratic Party has fallen. Who the heck else could they run? Potential DNC chairman Keith Ellison is in hot water for rampant anti-Semitism in the past. Hillary Clinton didn't win in 2016, but she hasn't ruled out a go at 2020. (¯\_(?)_/¯) Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned from the DNC in disgrace. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley's campaign for president never got off the ground. Bernie Sanders is even older than Biden. If Hillary Clinton couldn't connect with rust belt voters, how in the world could Elizabeth Warren? The Democratic bench is extremely thin, and it's definitely cause for concern among their party.
