Give Me a Break: "America Was Never Great" Trends On The Fourth of July

Today is the Fourth of July, which means that obviously people on the left are going to try to bring everyone's happiness down a notch. Case in point: one of the top trending hashtags on Monday was #AmericaWasNeverGreat as people tweeted all of the things they don't like about America. According to some, the U.S. is a genocidal monster of a nation hell-bent on keeping everyone down.

It's truly a disgusting display of ignorance to say that America was never great. Every country has things in its history that they are not proud of--this does not mean the nation as a whole is completely void of greatness. (And even Hillary Clinton thinks that America is already great.) People have been risking everything to come to the U.S. since the nation was founded--they wouldn't do that if this country wasn't a better opportunity than their homelands. I would much rather live in the U.S. than any other nation on earth. Americans shouldn't feel ashamed for celebrating the nation's birthday.

I'll defer to Ben Shapiro and Julie Borowski, who had the best comebacks to all of this:
