FLASHBACK: Remember When the Mainstream Media Argued Against Calling Impeachment Witnesses?

The Democrats in the House were in such a rush to impeach President Donald Trump that they cut corners left and right. They repeatedly said they wanted to especially hear testimony from former National Security Advisor John Bolton, Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, Senior Adviser to the acting White House Chief of Staff Robert Blair and Office of Management and Budget official Michael Duffey. The White House invoked executive privilege. But instead of waiting for the courts to decide if their testimony was protected by executive privilege, the House pressed forward. Now Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the Democrats and the mainstream media are demanding a do-over. They want the Senate to call witnesses and obtain additional documents.

It's a rather interesting take considering the mainstream media previously argued against calling additional witnesses when President Bill Clinton's impeachment trial took place during the 1990s.

We heard questions like, "Do we really need more witnesses?" and statements like, "This will add months to the trial." Some even argued that impeaching Clinton was a distraction from other business that Congress should be tending to.

Isn't it amazing just how hypocritical they are now that the roles are reversed? Why do the rules change? Oh, that's right. Because it's a Republican in the White House.
