Democrat candidate James Talarico is out with a new plan to cut healthcare prices, but it sounds oddly like a more convoluted version of President Donald Trump’s wildly popular and successful TrumpRx program.

Talarico is partnering with billionaire Mark Cuban, who already partnered with and endorsed TrumpRx, to break up the healthcare industry so that he can marginally lower drug prices. Amazingly, Trump has managed to drastically reduce prices without bringing any anti-trust action.

Talarico’s pitch for why Texas voters should choose to support his plan over supporting Ken Paxton’s willingness to support Trump’s program, which has already slashed prices on hundreds of prescription drugs and saved American consumers thousands, isn’t clear.

Republican officials don’t believe that voters will be fooled by Talarico’s baffling policy.

“James Talafreako's entire campaign can be summed up as flip-flops, unexplained policy reversals, and flat out lies to distort his years as a radical leftwing extremist,” RNC spokesman Zach Kraft told Townhall. “Texans won't be fooled by this fraud who has spent his entire career selling out Texans to China, fighting for socialist healthcare for illegals, and screaming from the rooftops about his love of trans kids."

Talarico will take on Republican candidate Ken Paxton for control over the seat during November’s midterm elections, just 67 days from now.
