Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s affordability campaign trail blitz through Texas concluded on Saturday with a packed house event in San Antonio.

The latest wave of campaign stops set sights on promoting Paxton’s affordability agenda. Paxton’s economic pitch includes significant tax deductions for healthcare premiums and “healthy living” costs like GLP-1s, even larger tax deductions for first-time homebuyers or individuals purchasing a new primary residence, and a doubling of the child tax credit.
I believe every Texan should be able to buy a home, raise a family, and live a healthy life without struggling to make ends meet.

Democrat nominee James Talarico has also attempted to portray himself as an advocate of tax cutting, but his voting record has shown that he has continuously voted against measures to reduce taxes or prevent the implementation of new taxes.
The economic proposal drew huge crowds of supporters at Paxton’s rallies across Texas. At the San Antonio stop, Townhall observed an entry line that stretched the length of the building. Attendees were forced to listen from the sidewalk as the venue was filled to capacity. Some attendees told Townhall that they traveled more than three hours in hopes of hearing from Paxton.
Other speakers remarked that Talarico is the type of person “who would rather spend his nights watching Brokeback Mountain” and emphasized the need to combat affordability in the wake of the Biden presidency, while others warned that Democrats are seeking to flip Texas through outside money.
Numerous protestors managed to find their way into the event. The leftist agitators, at least one of whom was masked, repeatedly screamed that “Paxton is a pedophile protector” while being escorted out. Paxton supporters shouted down the protesters with chants of “U.S.A.” and cheers as staffers shuffled the hecklers through the large crowd. Townhall observed one individual who caused a disturbance responded by assaulting the staffer who attempted to remove him, an incident confirmed by a Paxton spokesman following the event.

Recent polls have shown the Texas Senate race between Paxton and Talarico to be neck and neck. The two will face off in the November midterms.
