Day one is over, folks.
The GOP's 2026 midterm convention was a red-meat event, with top speakers like Tim Scott, Brandon Gill, Anna Paulina Luna, Scott Bessent, Ken Paxton, Todd Blanche, and, of course, President Donald Trump making their case for the Republican Party as we enter the final and hellacious stages of the cycle.
Trump tossed out a $5,000 dividend to every American should his party retain control of Congress, further codifying his tax cuts, a law aimed at stopping the invasion at the southern border, and the first mentions of Iran were tossed by the president.
Trump's address lasted 1 hour and 44 minutes, during which he vowed to drop in on every race he could, especially Texas. He told supporters to imagine his name was on the ballot. This was followed by a series of attacks on Ken Paxton's Democratic opponent, James Talarico. Trump called Paxton TX's greatest attorney general.
Make no mistake, folks.
The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Yes, that dividend check sounds nice, but other issues are on the table. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.

His healthcare plan would stop sending money to insurance companies and give it to people directly to pay for their healthcare.
