Netflix's 'Voices of Fire' Is a New Kind of Singing Competition

We're used to seeing Pharrell Williams turn his chair around on "The Voice" when he hears talent. Now, he's searching for that talent in his hometown community of Hampton Roads, Virginia to help create "the world’s most inspiring gospel choirs." Williams, who serves as an executive producer, is also featured in the series, as well as his uncle, Bishop Ezekiel Williams.

More from Deadline:

"Voices of Fire," which will stream on Netflix, features Williams’s uncle, Bishop Ezekiel Williams, and a core team of influential gospel leaders. Together, they venture out into Hampton Roads, Virginia to find undiscovered talent. With the belief that diverse backstories can give their collective voice a greater meaning, the Bishop and his team will be searching for people of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. (Deadline)

Check out a teaser for the show below, which provides a taste of some of the powerful pipes on display during the audition process. I think Williams sums up the competition nicely when he says, "This is about to be the most awesome choir ever."

"Voices of Fire" will premiere on Netflix on November 20.
