Kevin Spacey's Defense Team Demands to See Texts From Alleged Incident

Disgraced actor Kevin Spacey appeared at his arraignment hearing over a charge of assault and battery at a district court in Nantucket, MA Monday. The specific charge is that Spacey got a teenage bus boy drunk at a bar and sexually assaulted him on July 8, 2016. Spacey had previously signed an affidavit stating that he is not guilty. But, he did not enter a plea at Monday's proceedings.

The accuser said he has a short Snapchat video of the incident, which he provided to police.

The most interesting part of Monday's short proceedings was when Spacey's defense team noted that the accuser was texting his girlfriend throughout the incident about how excited he was to meet the actor. Spacey's attorneys want to know what the texts were - not just the night of the alleged incident, but six months after that, suggesting that the messages may help their case.

This charge comes after more than a dozen other men accused Spacey of unwanted sexual advances. The first to come forward was actor Anthony Rapp, who accused Spacey of luring him to his apartment when he was just 14.

Spacey has lost several jobs since the scandal broke, including his starring role in Netflix's "House of Cards."

The next hearing for Spacey's case is scheduled for March 4. The judge waived Spacey's appearance, but noted he should at least be available for a phone call, etc.
