Tim Pawlenty: GOP can't be 'devoted to decline, retrenchment, and withdrawal'

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will urge his party not to “shrink from the challenges of American leadership in the world” in a speech to Council on Foreign Relations in New York City.

A week after staking out a hawkish position on Afghanistan in an interview with POLITICO, Pawlenty will broaden the scope of both his own agenda and his criticism of President Barack Obama.
