Charlie Kirk was this generation’s truth-teller. He paid the ultimate price for the noble causes of faith, family, and conservatism. His influence was so profound that even South Park—long a bastion of edgy but safely progressive humor—found itself reflecting the conservatism he mainstreamed. To see unapologetic faith, patriotism, and truth reach that cultural frontier was unheard of until Charlie cracked the mold of conformity and made unabashed conservatism part of the national conversation.

Charlie was responsible for inserting and furthering faith and liberty into the national consciousness of our youth. He brought into focus the ideas that our culture had tried to suppress: what it means to be a man, how to love God and apply Christ’s message to daily life, and how to emancipate people from ignorance. He was used by God for such a time as this, and he did not yield in the furthering of His will.

I have followed Charlie since he was a gutsy kid showing up at schools where doors and minds were shut to faith and conservative thought. He had the courage and boldness to look the devil, the enemy, the Great Eye of Tolkien, straight on—and to make it blink. Charlie embodied the message of God’s Not Dead, a story about standing firm in places where godlessness and sin claim the loudest voice. He was bold about his faith, the first in our generation to declare it openly and live it without apology.

His campus debates became legendary. They were part religious revival, part circus, and part rock concert. And yet, behind the sparks and the spectacle, he always invited his opponents to return to the beginning: “Read the Bible. You don’t have to believe it. Just read it, and let’s talk.” That simple call, direct and unshaken, moved thousands. Because he resonated with the youth, they will carry on his work. His views and vision are now woven into their very being.

Charlie Kirk also mainstreamed conservative engagement. Before him, conservatism was the language of the buttoned-up. Charlie went light years further by bringing it to the people. He made faith in God, freedom, and patriotism the new punk rock. He changed America, and I saw it.

That is why his loss is being felt so profoundly. Anger, grief, and resolve are already beginning to translate into healing, unity, and the building of the greatest America we have ever known. People are flocking to conservative values and to God as never before. This is not only a political moment, but a spiritual one.

Charlie’s life and death bear resemblance to history’s great awakenings. Think of the Jesus Revolution of the 1970s, when a hippie preacher carried the Gospel into a lost culture of drugs and despair, creating Calvary Chapel and sparking a ripple effect that helped give rise to cultural conservatism and the Reagan era. Think of John the Baptist preparing the way, or of Peter and Paul, ordinary men whose courage built the infrastructure of faith we still live by today. Think of Elijah standing before the prophets of Baal and summoning fire. Charlie Kirk belongs in that lineage of men who did not flinch when it mattered.

Our Charlie was martyred for his Christian, social, and political-philosophical beliefs—but not before he made an impact that will be felt for generations. As bold as Charlie was, we must be bolder still. His legacy warrants it, and his sacrifice demands it.

For my part, I will carry his torch gladly. He showed us that one man, filled with conviction and faith, can confront the destructive forces of culture and turn the tide. Charlie Kirk has passed from this world, but his work is only beginning.

Onward for Charlie Kirk.
