Why I Support Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House

When I came to Congress in 2019, I was fortunate enough to receive an appointment to the Judiciary Committee. Serving with Jim on the Judiciary Committee, I’ve seen his leadership traits firsthand and I know those skills are exactly what the House of Representatives needs right now.

Everyone knows Jim is tenacious and he is dogged. Americans have seen Jim’s highly effective cross-examinations in hearings and his clear articulation of conservative principles on television. But I’ve seen how Jim makes it all happen. Jim outworks and out-prepares every other Member. He has a special talent for identifying what really matters in a debate and honing his message so that it resonates with the American people.

Jim is the embodiment of what it means to be a servant leader. He is humble and respectful. He listens and he learns. He seeks counsel from colleagues and staff. Jim lays out his vision, and with the buy-in of those around him, he develops a plan to achieve the common goal. And then he executes that objective. When we succeed, which is a regular occurrence under Jim’s leadership, the credit goes to the team.

The American people crave leadership. They see President Biden’s failing policies and failing acuity. They see gridlock and discord in Congress. What they need and what they deserve is a Speaker who can lay out and act upon a conservative vision for America.

The Iran-backed terror attacks in Israel remind us of the brutality in our world. Hamas has slaughtered innocent Israeli citizens, people who were in their homes, on their way to work, and even celebrating peace. Jim is clear-eyed about this threat to our greatest ally in the Middle East. He knows we must allow Israel to defend itself. He supports defense support for Israel so that it can replenish its Iron Dome missiles and root out the cancer of Hamas for good.

At home, Jim has been a leader on the biggest issues facing our country: crime, the border, and the economy. Under his leadership, the Judiciary Committee has held hearings in major U.S. cities examining the consequences of far-left soft-on-crime policies and the failure of progressive prosecutors to keep criminals behind bars. Jim’s work on the committee has shined a light on President Biden’s lax border security policies, including with a report out this week showing that the Administration has failed to remove over 99 percent of the illegal aliens they allowed to enter the country.

Americans across the country feel the squeeze from President Biden’s failing economy. Inflation remains way too high and a Democrat-led spending binge threatens Americans’ financial futures. Jim has been a champion of fiscal discipline. Under his speakership, I have no doubt Republicans will advance bills to rein in wasteful spending, tackle the federal deficit, and restore fiscal sanity to our country.

Jim Jordan is a man of integrity, intelligence, and principle. He is the only choice to unify Republicans, rally us around a conservative agenda for America, and begin to address the serious challenges we face.
