What McDaniel’s Re-Election as RNC Chair Means

I suspect that most of you reading this article were, like me, thoroughly disgusted, but not the least bit surprised, when Ronna McDaniel was re-elected Chair of the Republican National Committee.  The leadership of the Republican Party appears clueless about what is going on in America, and incapable of doing anything intelligent or beneficial for the American people.  This is business as usual in the Republican Party.  And it doesn’t bode well for the party, or for the United States.

What does McDaniel’s re-election mean?  Let me enumerate.

    1. It means the Republican Party establishment in Washington, D.C. doesn’t give one royal, rotten fig what you think about anything.  Or what you want.  Every poll and every indication of Republican Party faithful showed overwhelming support for Harmeet Dhillon, but the RNC committee re-elected McDaniel anyway.  There is no representative government in America any more.  They don’t represent you; to the Republican elite—just like to the Democratic Party elite—you are a peasant, a nothing, shut up and do what you are told.  They couldn’t care less what you think or want.

    2.  It means the Republican establishment is still totally unconcerned about what is happening in the country.  The digressive drift to the left, which has been happening for decades, is something we elect Republicans to stop.  But they aren’t doing that.  The country goes merrily on its way to hell and the Republican Party establishment is totally blind that it is happening.  And, just as likely, is utterly unconcerned.

    3.  The Republican Party is still run by Washington elites.  Not by you.  200 Republicans in the House were ready to endorse Nancy Pelosi’s rules when electing a new Speaker.  Only 20 stood up and fought.  10 to 1 in favor of Washington, D.C.  Mitch McConnell was re-elected Senate Minority Leader; how many of you wanted that to happen?  And now McDaniel’s re-election.  The Republican Party is run from Washington, D.C., FOR Washington, D.C.

    4.  Thus, McDaniel’s re-election means there will be no changes in the Republican Party’s direction or emphasis.  The Washington Swamp will still exist, mainly to be overseen by Democrats, with absolutely no effective protest from the Republican Party hierarchy.  Noise, but no action.  Nothing will change.  Business as usual.  Democrats rule and win, Republicans kiss butt and lose.  That has been the pattern under McDaniel.  Do you see any possibility of amendment?

    6.  There is no reason to believe that the Republicans losing streak under McDaniel will be altered.  Einstein’s “insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results” certainly applies here.  She has been a consistent loser; why are we suddenly expected to believe she will become a winner?

    7.  The country will continue its downward path into depravity, waste, weakness, and oblivion.  The Democrats have been leading this charge for decades.  The Republican Party is—was—our only hope for stopping the bleeding.  But RINOs are…Republicans In Name Only.  Which means they are actually Democrats.  And the Republican Party belongs to them, not you.  Don’t expect any positive movement upward in the country any time soon.  Leaders lead and the leadership in both parties is committed to its own power, prestige, and privilege above the welfare of the nation.  The plunge into destruction will continue.  How long will it be before we reach the point of no return, if we haven’t already?

You and I are tired of losing.  We are tired of losing elections, and more than that, we are tired of losing the country we love.  But, to the Republican elite establishment, this isn’t about winning or losing, and it has nothing to do with the well-being of the citizens or the strength of the United States.  It is solely about keeping their privileged positions.  They are weak, small people, totally selfish, totally self-centered, given only to their own self-aggrandizement.  They weaseled their way into power and now we can’t get them out.

McDaniel’s motto of “don’t change horses in the middle of the stream” only works if your horse isn’t dead and is still moving forward.  The Republican Party is going nowhere because its leadership has no idea how to get anywhere, and doesn’t care anyway.  But to the party elite, where are WE—the faithful Republican Party members—going to go?  They know we aren’t going to vote for Democrats, and they are absolutely correct about that.  So, they figure we will continue to give the Republican Party our money, and continue to vote for RINOs and elect Democrats.  They don’t care as long as they get the money they want and hold onto the power they have.

But they forget something.  We don’t HAVE to send them our money, and we don’t HAVE to vote for anybody.  I’m not going to vote for Joe Biden in 2024, absolutely not.  But I’m not going to vote for some useless RINO the Republican establishment will try to ram down my throat, either.  What are we going to do?  Maybe I will write my own name in.  If we don’t vote for the RINO, that means Biden will almost surely win.  Do you think Mitch McConnell cares who wins the Presidency next year?  Well, yeah, he doesn’t want Donald Trump to win.  Other than that, he couldn’t care less.  We do, but what can we do?

We conservative, faithful Americans still have a lot of work to do if we want to win the Republican Party, much less the country.  The question is, is there enough time?  Probably not.  When you start tumbling down a hill, you usually don’t stop until you hit bottom.  The sad thing is, America’s tumble is accelerating, and the Stupid Party in Washington is too busy contemplating its navel to do anything about it.

Don’t miss out on some good American reading from the good ol’ days.  My western novels, Whitewater and River Bend, are available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Eliva.com.  A third western, Allie’s Dilemma, is available for Kindle only.   And read some different posts on my blog at thailandlewis.blogspot.com.
