Conservative media is pretty much the only reason that, before the debate debacle, anyone knew that Joe Biden was a staggering zombie poised to unload in his Depends the way he has unloaded on America’s economy, culture and standing around the world. The regime media was telling us the opposite – he’s vigorous, brilliant and sexy! Because of conservative media, they were reduced to claiming “cheap fakes” – what a dumb epithet – right up until he slurred and mumbled his way to disaster on the debate stage.
I’ve been around conservative media for over 15 years, starting when Andrew Breitbart shanghaied be into writing for his then-brand new “Big Hollywood” site along with some folks you may have heard of – Larry O’Connor, Derek Hunter, Tony Katz, and Stephen Kruiser. After Andrew’s tragic passing, we all found a new home right here in the Townhall family. Andrew’s visionary legacy lives on in many outlets, but nowhere more than right here.
I’m not trying to sell you on Townhall; I’m trying to thank you, especially you VIP members. The work the many folks in the Townhall family do to expose and mock the damn communists is important, and I want to make sure you are making the most of your Townhall VIP membership because VIP membership is amazing.
Here’s my perspective – the best part is not the exclusive content but that it connects those of us who produce content with those who consume it. If you are a member, you already have access to my supersecret email, and I try and answer every email I get. Make sure you watch my Stream of Kurtiousness video. I do one every Friday. If you’re a VIP member, you get to hear me running my mouth for about 10 to 12 minutes on whatever subjects cross my mind in real time. It’s sometimes profane sometimes profound, but always amusing.
And then there’s my podcast “Unredacted,” which drops every Monday. I usually record them on Saturday and almost always in the car with Irina trapped with me. Besides exhibiting Vehicular Tourette’s, I get the chance to explain things in a little more detail than usual using some of my bizarre and varied background. We may do a deep dive into military strategy, or I may talk to you through arcane judicial process. A lot of stuff reported by the regime media lacks context because most people who report the news haven’t done anything in their lives besides scribble for crappy websites and cry when someone misgenders them. But if you’re looking at, say, a military operation like the pier in Gaza, maybe you want a guy who actually commanded thousands of people over a few decades telling you what’s going on and why it’s going on and what it all means. Or you might want a guy who had argued before the Ninth Circuit talking to you about how the courts really work. Other podcasts talk about this stuff in the abstract. I’ve often done it. That’s probably why Andrew Breitbart dragged me into this, that and our shared love of Mexican food and 80s new wave music.
Now, I don’t think you ever thought you’d hear me say it, but it’s not all about Kurt. VIP gives you a bunch of cool things that you can’t get anywhere else. Yeah, you get my extra Townhall column on Wednesdays, but you also get a bunch of other people’s exclusive content. You get extra Derek Hunter, who’s amazing (especially his musical taste) and often tells me my columns suck before I send them in, prompting desperate pre-deadline rewrites. But you can also get stuff from my pal Larry O’Connor. “Larry” is an amazing show – I was on his inaugural episode because I rule – and there’s nobody better. This takes me to another topic, because I don’t like staying on topics, but it’s really weird to be good personal friends with someone and have beers with him and joke with him and have your dog Barkey bark at him and then you see him in real life doing a job and suddenly he’s an incredible radio/podcast pro. That’s how I feel about hearing Larry on the radio. I’m listen to this smooth and polished host, and I’m thinking, “That’s freaking Larry!” Of course, he does have a lot of experience. About 15 years ago, Larry starting an Internet show while still using his “Stage Right” Breitbart alias, and I was a weekly guest on it with this younger comer-upper you may have heard of named Ben Shapiro. We used to do something called “The Hour of Hate.” I wish those shows were still available – they were epic. But that’s a story for another time – stories we hope to tell you at live VIP events down the road in the future.

Check out my pals Storm Paglia and Matt Vespa do their “Triggered” podcast and I can’t recommend it enough – hey, you guys need to get me back on again! As a VIP member, you get it uncensored, which is amazing. These guys are younger than me – actually, pretty much everybody’s younger than me lately – but they are not weepy millennials. It’s smart and fresh and often unexpected. These guys are hard-core. They are also funny. You can get that and a whole bunch of other stuff on VIP. There are no death marches of pretentious nonsense on any of the Townhall Media properties.
Word is that VIP is going to expand and improve in the future. We’re going try and do some live events and some other stuff.
