Eric Swalwell Can Take His Gun Policy And Head Home

I laughed too hard for too long at this, or maybe I did not laugh hard enough or long enough.

Democratic presidential hopeful Eric Swalwell (D-CA) hates guns. This week he held an anti-gun rally near the National Rifle Association in Virginia. However, the turnout was huge – for Second Amendment supporters. Approximately only 18 people showed up.

He also has a disdain for anyone that owns firearms. Swalwell wants to confiscate AR1’s first. After that, he “has a plan” for handguns. He is an example of why our Founding Fathers recognized our God-given right to bear arms.

If anyone understood what it was like to live under a tyrannical government, our founders did. The revolution began for the pursuance of freedom which is only available with limited government. These men realized that we are given certain rights by our Creator. The government is not God, nor should it act like one, and the only way to keep the government at bay was to limit its reach and give power to the people. In this case, the Second Amendment was carefully written to protect our first God-given right- freedom of speech.

Washington, Madison, Franklin, and Jefferson warned us about politicians like Swalwell.

Since before he announced his run for the presidential nomination, Swalwell has been grabbing for guns. He was met with resistance and got his feelings hurt. In typical fashion, he made comments that the government has “legit” nukes. I am sure he did not mean that the government should blow up the Southeast and Midwest with nuclear bombs to eliminate the majority of gun owners. However, why would he say this?

My prediction is that Swalwell has serious plans to take away guns and impose more in-depth control over citizens. He knows the Second Amendment stands between a progressive agenda and a bigger government imposed on the people.

While I laughed at the turnout at Swalwell’s event, there is something we should not forget. There are politicians in office at a federal level that wish to remove the Second Amendment and change the Constitution from its initial framework, so America is reframed to have a larger government.

A more intrusive government means more restrictions on freedom of speech, religious practices, search and seizure protections and states’ rights.

The one good thing about Swalwell is his honesty. Most Democratic politicians will not admit their desire to confiscate firearms fully. During an interview with S.E. Cupp on CNN, Swalwell acknowledges that he was coming to take guns away. When asked why he is pursuing “assault weapons” since they account for less than five percent of shootings, Swalwell said that he has a plan for handguns as well but did not expound on it.

Gun control advocates can claim that they are not going after every single gun, but Swalwell is a clear example of the Democratic Party. The left often claims that the slippery slope argument is a fallacy, but they are not telling the truth. They know about the slippery slope and how it benefits their agenda.

The Constitution is not a living, breathing document that changes over time. There is no language in any of our founding materials that give the government authority to change the wording or interpret it in a way that fits politics.

Our gun rights were not originally for hunting. The founding fathers believed in an armed citizenry for the sake of rebuking a tyrannical government. The intent of the original constructing of the Constitution is found in the Federalist Papers. In this case, paper number 46.

Swalwell is a tyrannical politician being held back by the fact that there are armed citizens. If someone who’s in his position of power wants to take away items that stop him, then something should ring a bell in your head. Swalwell is dangerous and does not need to be in any political office, let alone the president of the United States.

While the results of Swalwell’s rally were comical, the fact is that he’s telling the truth while other left-wing politicians feel the same way but will not openly talk about it. Our Constitution is not “living and breathing.” The Second Amendment protects the entire Constitution and he wants it repealed.

Swalwell is currently polling at 0 percent, and there is a reason why.
