America Can’t Unite Without Faith

The Democrat Party does not have what it takes to unify America. By going to war against people of faith — and Christianity, in particular — the left is laying siege to the very soul of our nation.

Contrary to the claims of the “Black Lives Matter” activists, violent Antifa mobs are not rioting to promote justice and peace in our communities. In recent years, the main objective of the progressive movement has been to destroy America’s Christian heritage and to turn our country into a secular society.

The Black Lives Matter platform, for instance, publicly condemns the very concept of a nuclear family, portraying it as yet another system of systemic oppression in the West.

“We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable,” the movement’s website states.

The truth is that far too many Black Americans have directly suffered as a result of the ongoing campaign to dismantle the nuclear family. A whopping73 percent of Black children are born fatherless. A stunning71 percent of high school dropouts come from single-parent households. Children raised without a father are20 times more likely to go to prison than if they were raised in a nuclear family. The list of daunting statistics goes on and on.

Regrettably, the Democrat Party unequivocally supports the Black Lives Matter movement and its radical ideology. Instead of condemning the ongoing wave of violent riots across America, Democrat politicians have shielded the movement from public scrutiny and viciously attacked those who did not embrace its mission.

I’m a life-long Democrat, but I can’t support a political party that actively undermines the Black community and sows division in our society. Black Americans can’t afford to keep voting for the same politicians who keep promising hope but deliver nothing but despair.

Luckily, President Trump understands the important role of faith in our society. For the past four years, he has proudly embraced America’s Christian tradition and proven himself afierce defender of religious liberty, rolling back the Obama-Biden administration’s onslaught against people of faith.

“[W]e are all united by our faith in our Creator and our firm knowledge that we are all equal in His eyes,” the President said in 2017. “We are not just flesh and bone and blood. We are human beings, with souls. Our Republic was formed on the basis that freedom is not a gift from the government, but that freedom is a gift from God.”

Christianity teaches us to put our differences aside, recognize the fundamental dignity of every human, and cherish something greater than ourselves. Only faith has the power to truly unify our country — for as Fyodor Dostoevsky famously put inThe Brothers Karamazov, "If God does not exist, then everything is permitted."
