Am I The Only Person Who Didn’t Care About Trump’s Russia Statement?

The world ended this week, or so you might have thought if you watched or read any news after the joint press conference between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday. From the moment it ended, the freak out from the left and the Trump-hating right has been raging with no sign of slowing or rational thought. In the midst of all the pearl-clutching and panic, I have to ask one simple question – am I the only person who doesn’t care what the president said?

There hasn’t been this level of outrage since…the last time. Just after the summit with North Korea the pundit and professional complainer class engaged their fainting couches over the US and North Korean flags flying next to one another. “This was a propaganda victory for Kim Jong-Un,” they cried as if a dictator willing to starve his own people and murder an uncle with an anti-aircraft gun needs to boost his poll numbers back home and that picture ensured his reelection, or something.

It was absurd then, and it’s even more absurd now.

“It’s just as serious to me as the Cuban missile crisis in terms of an attack or the 9/11 attack,” squawked one liberal on MSNBC. “The president is taking the side of the people who attacked us instead of trying to prevent a future attack. He has done nothing to make sure that the elections four months away are going to be safe and I would say that his performance today will live in infamy as much as the Pearl Harbor attack or Kristallnacht.”

The host, Ali Velshi, let that slide. He didn’t bother to point out how stupid it was or call 911 to report Jill Wine-Banks having a stroke. He did, however, proudly tweet the video of it.

Velshi is either ignorant of history or simply ignorant. Both are believable.

Yet MSNBC wasn’t the only place to lose their damn minds over the president not choking out Vladimir Putin, or whatever it was they expected him to do.

It was “treason,” screeched former CIA Director John Brennan.

Bill Kristol, who has spent the entirety of the Trump administration lamenting not only Hillary’s loss but his own slide into irrelevance, has been so angry he formed a new group with fellow travelers called “Defending Democracy Together.” It has seven directors, one executive director, and one “senior policy analyst,” and will likely milk gullible people for money while building an email list they can “rent” for a pretty penny and sell cruise tickets to.

They are all nuts.

Look, I don’t care if they hate the president. Left, right, or center, I couldn’t care less. What I can’t stand is hypocrisy.

I expect liberals to hate any and every non-liberal, it’s what they do and who they are. I have a problem with people who swore they believed in certain things and are willing to toss all of it under the bus because they don’t like the person implementing them.

I couldn’t care less what the president says, I care what he does. I don’t have to worry about a tweet chipping away at my liberty, I do have to worry about laws and executive orders doing that. And where it counts, Trump is solid.

Unlike Kristol, George Will, and far too many other pearl-clutchers to list, the only things that could make me happier than Donald Trump appointing two Supreme Court Justices would be him appointing three and the fact that Hillary Clinton isn’t appointing any.

I don’t care that Trump may have “offended the intelligence community.” Under Barack Obama, the intelligence community spied on Donald Trump, so why the Hell would he trust them? Yes, he’s appointed the heads of it, but the bureaucracy remains in place. The people who executed those orders are still in their jobs. So maybe a jaundiced eye is called for when your political opponents are using their work in an attempt to paint your presidency as illegitimate and anonymous leaks are coming from somewhere.

Besides, if the people entrusted with keeping our country safe are so sensitive that a fumbled answer at a press conference rattles them to the point that they simply can’t function, they have no business in their jobs anyway. They work for the country, not any president. If they don’t know that, or can’t handle that, they should quit.

The president definitely could and should have given a better answer in Helsinki, but I don’t care. I know what he’s doing, I couldn’t care less if he says something inartful when he’s governing as a conservative and appointing constitutionalists to the Supreme Court. I believe in what I believe in, and I don’t care if we march toward victory with an imperfect president as long as we keep marching toward victory.

Post Script: Yes, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again (at least a few more times, then I’ll give it a rest), but I’ve written a damn good book called “Outrage, INC: How the Liberal Mob Ruined Science, Journalism, and Hollywood.” Don’t take my word for it, take the words of Mark Levin, Ann Coulter, David Limbaugh, Dana Loesch, Dan Bongino, Michelle Malkin, Ben Shapiro, Kurt Schlichter, and countless others. Obviously, I have an interest in selling you the book, but they don’t. Yet they did. You’ll love it, trust me. Thanks.
