Stolen Validity – CNN/PBS
More like a major screwup, amirite?!
We are still attempting to make sense of this one.
Christiane Amanpour joined in on the criticism of Pete Hegseth over his slamming of the media in covering the Iranian war. She castigated him for comparing the press to the Pharisees, and dictated that what the press was doing was “bearing witness to the truth.” Was it a poor choice of words, or poor timing on her part, that the press – as we covered yesterday – immediately went out and bore false witness about Hegseth saying quotes from the movie “Pulp Fiction” were in the Bible?

But Ms. Amanpour went way outside the margins next.
She actually went on to say that she had the same military rank as Pete Hegseth. This is an astounding announcement, considering the woman has never served in the military. For clarity, while reporting from embedded positions, reporters are sometimes given the status of particular ranks, for the purpose of prioritizing evacuations or other movement provisions during a conflict. This does NOT mean, however, she ever had the rank of...any stature in the military.
Using the Pentagon podium to lash out at journalists in extreme biblical terms is unprecedented, misguided, and frankly wrong on the substance. Ever since Sunday School Catholic classes, I have been well aware of the Scribes and the Pharisees. They were the bad guys against…

Both Kinds of Standards – NBC NEWS
So, when the thing you complained about happening stops happening, that too is bad?!
Let’s harken back to a week ago, when the press was collectively mewling over the rising gas prices. Well, things have shifted, since the war that this same press insists is being won by Iran appears to be concluding, with the “winner” reduced to a shadow of its once self. Along with that, we have the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and with that, oil prices are plunging as we type.
This is horrific news, you see, according to NBC News. We will not even explore why this is so bad, because when just days ago the rising price was considered grave, the polar opposite being called equally bad is the kind of coverage begging to be ignored.
Oil prices may be starting to come down for a worrisome reason https://t.co/CWu2j68Ziq

News Avoidance Syndrome – POLITICO
To understand, sexual assault is only important to a presidential candidate, not a serving congressman?
More outlets are getting strung up by their Eric Swalwell coverage – specifically, the lack thereof. Adding to this pyre is Politico, which at one point seemingly had the goods on the man, but then shied away from any substantive reporting, because he dropped out of the presidential race.
We have to guess it was no longer newsworthy, since he was ONLY serving as a senior Congress critter. Oh, and he was running for the governor’s mansion in California, but still, not valid enough to report on.
One note on the Swalwell stuff - (this isn’t confirmed) but a reporter with Politico was working on verifying the rumors on Swalwell when he was running for President. (he’s no longer with the publication) Two days before he was scheduled to sit down with this reporter Swalwell…

Legalized Press-titution – ABC NEWS
Just serving as press secretary, huh?
President Obama is demanding that Virginia residents go forward with gerrymandering. We know this because ABC News has essentially become Obama’s press office. He made his comments in a promotional video, and not only does the network news division provide us with this clip, but it gives a lengthy piece explaining all of the details before voters go to the polls over the matter.
EXCLUSIVE: Former President Barack Obama, in a video shared exclusively with ABC News, called on Virginians to vote in favor of a redistricting measure that could give Democrats a boost in the 2026 midterms if it passes. https://t.co/SIfvVJ8aBT
