Border-line Obsessions – NEW YORK TIMES
Seems a few details were left at the ticket counter.
With ICE agents being dispatched to airports to fill in the vacancies created by TSA agents calling in or quitting, as a result of the Democrats' refusal to fund the agency, we knew horror stories would emerge. We also knew the press would contort the facts to make things appear dire.
Over the weekend, there was an ICE detention made at San Francisco International, and the reframing has been on full display. One example comes from Heather Knight, who declares that the woman taken into custody had no criminal record. The truth is in what was omitted in her post on the matter.

To start, this took place on Sunday, before ICE was installed at airports. This means that the immigration officers had been called in for the matter, suggesting there was a valid reason. Ms. Knight knew of this reason, as she touts that the Times had documents regarding the arrest, which would mean she knew this female detained had a standing deportation order from seven years ago.
NEW: A viral video showed ICE agents detaining a woman at SFO on Sunday night. Documents obtained by the @nytimes show TSA officials scanning passenger lists tipped off ICE she was planning to fly to Miami. The woman has no criminal history.

Prose & Contradiction – WASHINGTON POST
Look, don’t listen to his words, just listen to what she says about his positions.
At the Washington Post, Hannah Knowles has hit upon what she sees as definitive proof that there is white supremacist bigotry in conservative circles.
Just…avoid the blatant facts, as she has done.
Bigotry among young conservatives has Republicans on edgehttps://t.co/9Li4pLs2R9

Even as she alludes to the fact that white supremacy is not recognized in the GOP (“Many Republicans dismiss such party members…”), Knowles forges on to say there is a disturbing undercurrent in the party. Her focus: Nick Fuentes.
Yeah, Hannah, about that…it might have been helpful to do a spot of research first. You see, Fuentes has come out as an avowed anti-Trump voice, and he has been stating that his Groyper gang should vote Democrat.
We now await her hit piece on THAT party, for its problematic white supremacy presence.
How exactly does a journalist like @HannahKnowles slander conservatives as fostering bigotry by focusing on Nick Fuentes, but COMPLETELY overlooks the fact that he is anti-Trump and is promoting the Democratic Party?!?!

Demo-lition Project – CNN
This means that while the others were growing…
There is a bit of a surprise when looking over cable news audiences over a bit more than a 15-year window. Over that time, the number of people who have cut the cord and left cable television has been significant. As a sign, household cable television penetration rates plummeted from over 80 percent in 2011 to just 34.4 percent by the end of 2024, and that has only continued.
Curiously, however, cable news channels have seen a rise in their audiences. Fox News has had double-digit growth since 2009, and MSNBC/MS NOW grew by 50 percent. And yet, as those channels succeed against those negative headwaters, CNN has managed to chase off ONE-THIRD of its audience over that same time frame.
Notable that, as cable customers are eroding, the cable news channels have seen growth.

Both Kinds of Standards – VARIOUS OUTLETS
They are not speaking and getting a 15-point proposal, AND here is their counterproposal.
As we have covered, our media complex has come forward to all but declare they will not take anything this administration says about Epic Fury seriously, and they are relying on the Iranian government and media for their news on this conflict. It has been both an amazing admission and a surefire way to have their reporting blow up in their metaphorical faces.
As a sign of how misdirected the press here has been, for much of this week, they have been content to say Donald Trump was lying when he said he was willing to suspend the attacks and negotiate a deal with Iran. The basis for this cynicism has been the insistence from Iran - either via supposed leadership or in their press - that Iranian authorities have not been communicating with Trump.
Yet, the foreign minister who insists there is no communication admitted they are using mediators. The foreign minister says they are not negotiating with the US while reviewing proposals, and they will not entertain discussions while demanding an end to the conflict and compensation.
Annnnd…this is who our media relies upon for “facts” on this conflict.

There are no talks with the U.S., which is sending messages through different mediators. The exchange of messages via mediators does not mean negotiation with the U.S.

Reporting On The Mirror – CNN
What? No 2-week’s notice?!
With talk swirling that (more) layoffs are impending at CNN, there was a dose of surprise in the early morning hours. Rahel Solomon, hostess on “Early Start”, announced she is finished. While passing things to “CNN This Morning,” she came out to announce that Friday will be her last day at the network.
Of course, now, speculation will be whether she was tipped off about being included in the upcoming job cuts.
