Body Checking The Fact Checkers – VARIOUS OUTLETS
They are reduced to now trusting only what comes out of Iran… whoever is in charge.
When it comes to the coverage of the Epic Fury efforts, the U.S. press corps seems collectively intent on opposing the president at every turn, insulting the preparedness and planning of our military, and insisting we are losing the effort.
One example: the press criticizes the administration for attacking Iran. Then, in a matter of days, it criticizes the administration for trying to broker an end to the hostility.

On this new development, we see media outlets completely dismissing any mention President Trump has made about working out a peace plan with the leadership.
Outlets and journalists are dubious about this claim because Iran is disputing things. The regime that has been deceptive since the Carter administration is considered to be a valid source today.
The unsettling reality is that with this president, Americans in wartime are in the unprecedented position of having to suspect that the enemy’s version of events is more likely to be true than our own.

Both Kinds of Standards – MS NOW
It’s only bigotry when the other side is doing it.
Just try to imagine if a news outlet were to come out and insult a Democrat official for being gay and not joining the military. The media meltdown would be loud and performative.
Yet there was Lawrence O’Donnell, insulting Scott Bessent regarding the passing of Robert Mueller, saying that Bessent being gay meant he was never in the military, so he has no right to comment about Mueller, apparently. Not only does this smack of homophobic intolerance, but Larry even goes on to undercut his critique of Bessent by noting that at the time he would have been able to serve the military would not have been accepting an openly gay individual. But all of this is acceptable language, because he was referring to someone in a Republican administration
Last night on The Last Word, Lawrence O'Donnell went after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for not serving in the military since he was gay, adding that he was no Robert Mueller. pic.twitter.com/wHksoIYQAI

Gilded Reframe – LOYOLA PHOENIX
Apologizing for possibly insulting an alleged murderer with accuracy.
With the news filled with reports of an illegal alien reportedly killing Sheridan Gorman, a freshman at Loyola University, things get disturbing as we look at how the campus newspaper covers the killing and the aftermath.
In an initial report in the Loyola Phoenix, the alleged murderer had been accurately referred to as an “illegal immigrant”. After publication, the paper changed the headline and edited the report, because it is considered insulting to use such descriptors.
Editor’s Note: On March 23, a post on The Phoenix’s Instagram page carried the following headline: “Immigrant Man Charged in Murder of Sheridan Gorman, DHS Involved.” That headline didn’t reflect the most important elements in the story, and it was taken down minutes later to prevent any further harm to affected community members. Additionally, in the body of the original post, we described the man who was charged as an “illegal immigrant,” using language provided by the Department of Homeland Security. That language does not align with Associated Press style, nor does it align with the values of this newspaper. No human’s existence is illegal, and we quickly changed our wording to reflect that.
Loyola University newspaper has issued an apology in the wake of the murder of freshman Sheridan Gorman...ostensibly to her accused murderer. The Phoenix was sorry for calling Jose Medina-Medina an "illegal immigrant" instead of a "Rogers Park Resident"...https://t.co/01UFG9ySL8

Pulitzer Prize Nomination – NBC 4, WASHINGTON
Yes, that is a real headline…
A professional cornhole player who's also a quadruple amputee is facing murder charges in Maryland. Dayton James Webber, 27, was behind the wheel of a car when he shot and killed his front-seat passenger, authorities say. https://t.co/dnqhDWAUIb

Reporting On The Mirror – JEZEBEL
Huh, and we were just wondering what happened to this outlet…
While maybe not a truly scientific measure, we feel like it is safe to say that maybe the fortunes of an outlet are suffering somewhat if the Editor-in-Chief feels the need to come forward and inform people that their periodical is still an ongoing concern. You can still go to its website to see that it is still open for business.
As the editor of @Jezebel, I'd like to say that while I recognize we are no longer living in the 2016 media ecosystem, Jez is still very much here, and we're still covering abortion rights, calling out celebs, & publishing silly blogs. You can find us at Jezebel [dot] com. Thx<3
