Reporting on the Mirror – WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS’ ASSOCIATION

  • Considering this is the Nerd Prom, it was hardly a fun gala.

Saturday night the press held their annual affair celebrating — themselves. This year’s WHCA Awards Dinner was noticeably different. For starters, barely anyone from the Trump administration showed up. Secondly, as we covered weeks back, they canceled the traditional comedian speaker and just went with a stilted awards ceremony. Some of the high(low)lights.

  • Rachel Scott was awarded for her coverage during the Trump assassination attempt. She heralded their bravery at the event many there suggested was staged.

  • Alex Thompson was celebrated as one of the few willing to point out Joe Biden was a mental basket case. They still sold this as a story they “missed,” as the White House deceived the media.

  • The AP was awarded for covering the White House altering Biden’s comment on Trump supporters being “garbage,” while — again — many in the room reported on things as the Biden team wanted.

  • A BBC reporter was awarded for forthright reporting to earn back public trust. This is the same BBC that has routinely been putting out false pro-Hamas coverage. But sure, trust…

Anti-Social Media – BBC

  • It is almost as if there is a pattern with these Brits.

Did we imply the BBC is a pro-Hamas network? Maybe we should have been more definitive. After all, this is the outlet that recently had to haul down a documentary covering the “plight” of Palestinians after it was revealed the production was backed and produced by Hamas officers.

Now comes another damning example of the BBC being in bed with the people they refuse to call “terrorists.” One of their frequent reporters used in Gaza has been shown to be supporting burning the Jewish people — just like Hitler had done. Yeah, there seems to be a pattern here.

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • Now why would anyone suggest the networks collude to hit the administration together?!

A funny thing happened on the Sunday morning shows: It seems somehow they all broke a similar story about child deportations at the same time. On the three major networks, they curiously all spoke with administration officials and brought up the case of three times children under five years old had allegedly been deported.

Except, as logic would dictate — these were not cases of children being deported, but their parents being illegals and the very young kids joining their parent. But, of course, logic has no place in emotional accusations.

Martha Radditz brought it up on ABC’s “This Week” and was shut down by facts, Kristen Welker was schooled on the subject by Marco Rubio on “Meet the Press,” and Tom Homan had Margaret Brennan stumbling on “Face the Nation.”

Matching Media Memorandum – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • Proof the press uses a Word-A-Day calendar?

Recall recently when it seemed that every news outlet or pundit was resorting to describing what the Trump administration has been doing as “chaos”? It was a sad and pathetic example of a media script in play.

Well, we now have the newest agreed-upon descriptor: Trump’s deportation efforts are an “escalation” of things. Behold the Media Mynah birds in all their glory.

Reporting on the Mirror – CBS NEWS / 60 Minutes

  • Scott Pelley tough-talking sounds like a visiting uncle lecturing on the dangers of video games.

We covered last week how “60 Minutes” executive producer Bill Owens resigned, essentially because the network was telling them to straighten up and start reporting accurately. In response, Scott Pelley closed last night’s broadcast with his version of a stern dressing down of the Paramount executives who dared address the issues stemming from their fraudulent Kamala Harris interview segment last fall.

The funniest is Pelley stressing how they are an “independent,” something you never heard stressed by them during Democratic presidencies.

Demo-lition Project – CNN

  • Could you do worse if you tried?

CNN continues to erode viewership, even as it has reached a level you would think has to be a basement.

Last week, its primetime lineup saw under 500K in total viewers, as all the shows from 7pm onward saw a drop from its lead-in audience. This is simply miserable returns being realized.
