Both Kinds of Standards – THE NEW YORK TIMES
Not to imply this is political segregation, we'll simply state this IS political segregation.
With the rise of Kamala Harris to the top of the Democratic Party ticket, one of the prevailing messaging tactics from the press is to frame every criticism of Harris – no matter how politically valid – as being racist. The amazement is how the media are trying to tout Harris for all of her identity politics checkbox attributes, while at the same time insisting no one right of center can dare mention race.
Those on the left, however? Go and be as race-based as you desire! As a result, we saw last night the digital gathering of "White Dudes for Harris," a supposedly organic grassroots uprising of support…from the likes of those hyper-leftists like Hollywood names and David Hogg, all who were already going to back the candidate.
The New York Times looks over this conglomeration of Caucasians and seems to realize that after race-based lectures, maybe a whites-only group was not the best way to go. So, to save face, they went with a common dodge – hey, they are not taking themselves seriously and it is all just a fun gag!
A video call with 60,000 self-professed "White Dudes for Harris" showed the breadth of Democratic support for Kamala Harris's candidacy, and the ways the party is learning to make fun of itself. https://t.co/LUvHnHhFOu

First Amendment Strike Force – AXIOS

Hold that thought about having fun and making political jokes! Axios is here to inform us that there is a need to be policing what people use for their humor! See, as they explain, while political tomfoolery is a longstanding tradition, if you use AI to create political satire, you are doing something less acceptable...somehow.
The complaint is over a video clip of Kamala Harris with her voice altered by AI, so in the clip, she says something different, and this is somehow wrong. Is it because AI was used, instead of, say, a voice-over impersonator? Or is it because it involved Kamala Harris? The latter feels likely since any such fakes involving Donald Trump are not listed in the piece.
America's long tradition of political humor is well-protected by the First Amendment. Now, deepfake creators — and spreaders like Elon Musk — are turning to the "it's just a parody" defense.https://t.co/ysDF6pyMam

Race to the Bottom – MSNBC
His own familial results may vary.
The desire to turn anything involving J.D. Vance into a racial issue seems irresistible to the fevered minds at MSNBC. We have already had it explained that his desire to be buried on his family cemetery plot is somehow racist and that naming his business after “The Lord Of The Rings” elements is a sign of white supremacy.
Now, Molly Jong-Fast comes on the air to make the wild leap from his past comments about childless leftists to stipulate that Vance wants to only have white kids. “He wants a kind of, racist thing.”
Small issue there, Ms. Fast – J.D. Vance is the father of two biracial kids of his own. Ah, that is probably why she went on a blocking spree on Xitter and then locked down her account.
🚨 UNHINGED: MSDNC contributor @MollyJongFast says JD Vance only wants "white children" in America — as @politico White House chief @JonLemire sits by and refuses to correct her.

Legalized Press-titution – WASHINGTON POST
The pro-Kamala desperation has not yet abated. At the Washington Post, Daniel Pink is on hand to lend his support and advice for Harris and her campaign. His suggestion: She should assemble a power team in order to fight the evil forces of Donald Trump!
Yes…seriously.
He calls Trump a "supervillain" and goes on to suggest that Kammy create her own version of "The Avengers":
Kamala Harris should borrow from the best comic books and get a band together. The signal goes out. The band assembles. That’s the secret in November: Kamala’s Own Justice League of America.

First Amendment Strike Force – HARRIS FOR PRESIDENT
And there was not an iota of outrage to be seen from the compliant press herd.
Seriously, what the hell is this?! Some beat reporters on the Harris campaign reported on an odd decision made by the Kamala Harris campaign team. The reporters were restricted from talking to citizens who attended her public press conference.
Harris campaign is blocking reporters from talking to voters outside the press pen here at Whitmer/Shapiro event in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

Apparently, it took some calls from the outside made into her camp to get them to relent, but how was it that the journalists on site actually tolerated this decision?! It calls to mind an episode we saw during the Hilary Clinton campaign, where she was walking in a town and they had the press corralled in a rope line, obediently following from a distance.
