Palin Talks 2012?

Palin Talks 2012?

1. Based on her quote, I'm not convinced she's specifically talking about running for president in 2012 -- though everyone seems to think this is a "blunt" statement.  Here's what she actually said:

"I think that, if I were to give up and wave a white flag of surrender against some of the political shots that we've taken ... I'm not doing this for naught..."  To me, that doesn't specifically mean she is planning to run for president.

2.  Then again, who knows?  More than a year ago, Palin told Chris Cillizza that she'd be interested in being VP.  Politicians are usually coy, but being direct seems to have paid-off for her in the past.  So maybe implying she might run for president would also pay-off?

3.  I think her long-term goal is to change the nation for the better.  As such, I don't think it's inappropriate to say that she plans on being involved in the future -- regardless of what happens on Tuesday.  That's what I hear when I read her quote.  ... Of course, that's not as good of a story as her talking about 2012.

4.  Lastly, if you read the quotes from the ABC interview (linked above), you'll see she talks a lot more about the fact that McCain is going to win on Tuesday than she does about her personal future ...
