Clinton: Problems at VA Under Obama Are 'Unacceptable'

Hillary Clinton is taking shots at those on both sides of the political aisle for their treatment of veterans, hammering Donald Trump over his donations to veterans groups, and criticizing President Obama for the VA’s performance under his administration.

When asked on MSNBC whether the care and performance of the VA under President Obama has been acceptable, Clinton said no.

“I’ve been clear for months that the problems at the VA are unacceptable,” she said, “I’ve been outspoken about that.”

Clinton said that if she becomes president she will “come in with a plan immediately” and take care of the problems at the VA in a “very focused manner.”

“We’ve got to act more as a guide and guardian for veterans, coordinating their care and ensuring their health outcomes,” she said.

Her tone about fixing the problems at the VA is markedly different than it was just a year ago, when she brushed off the VA scandal, saying it’s not as “widespread” as news coverage would indicate.
