Obama Announces New Sanctions For More Russian Officials, Economy

President Obama announced new sanctions Thursday morning against more of Russia's top officials and on certain sectors of the Russian economy. He also called on Congress to quickly pass an economic aid package for Ukraine.

"We've continued to be deeply concerned," Obama said. "Russia must know that further escalation will only isolate it further from the international community."

The statement comes after speculation Russia will continue its invasion into Ukraine by heading north to Kiev.
