Obama's 1 Percent Buddy George Clooney Throwing a Fundraiser

For months we have been hearing President Obama calling for more taxes on the rich and pushing for the "Buffett Rule." We've also seen the president embrace the Occupy Wall Street movement.

This week, Obama has been pushing the Buffett Rule hard and has given multiple speeches about how the rich, millionaires and billionaires, just need to simply "pay their fair share." But now his buddy George Clooney, a Hollywood one percenter, is throwing Obama a lavish $40,000 a plate fundraiser in his swanky L.A. home.

ET can exclusively reveal that George Clooney is hosting a fundraiser for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign -- but there's one thing he won't do to help the president.

Clooney will host the president and about 150 supporters at the event on May 10 at his home in Los Angeles, California. If you think it will be cheap to get a chance to hobknob with an Oscar winner and a president, though, think again -- tickets will run $40,000 each, with proceeds going to the Obama Victory fund, a joint fundraising committee of Obama for America, the Democratic National Committee and several state Democratic parties.

Class warfare on a plate? Yummy.
