Holder to Testify Before Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday

Attorney General Eric Holder will testify on Capitol Hill today before the Senate Judiciary Committee and will once again have to answer questions surrounding his role in Operation Fast and Furious. Holder will also have to clarify the timeline of when he knew about Fast and Furious. In May 2011, Holder testified under oath that he had only known about Fast and Furious "for a couple of weeks," however Townhall obtained five memos last month addressed directly to the Attorney General in July and August of 2010, nearly a year before Holder admitted.

Apparently Holder plans to tell the committee, the press and America that Fast and Furious is being blown out of proportion with "heated rhetoric" in order to "score political points," never mind the fact that over 2,000 guns were illegally trafficked into the hands of Mexican drug cartels courtesy of the Obama Justice Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and that federal agents have been killed. Nearly two-thirds, or 1,500 of those guns are still lost in Mexico. Two of those guns showed up at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in December 2010 and just last week, Arizona Sheriff Paul Babeu confirmed two more guns sold during Fast and Furious were found during a raid of the Sinaloa Cartel in the Arizona desert. The murder of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent Jamie Zapata is also suspected to be linked to the deadly program.

Holder is expected to call for more gun control during his testimony, just as Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer did during testimony about the lethal program last week.
