The Only Campaign Moves Obama Is Making Right Now Are Ones That Keep Him In The Shadows

President Obama hasn't been spending a lot of time on the campaign trail, especially during the Congressional August recess when presidents are supposed to be stumping for their buddies. At yesterday's press briefing, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs had an answer for that:

In a lot of these races, there are issues that are not going to be decided either in support of or opposition to the president.

Translation: if you're already mad at Obama, you're also not going to like the guy he hangs around. Or, less generously: the President has already messed things up so much  that he just doesn't want to mess them up any more.
