Father Frank Pavone, of Priests for Life, facilitated the transfer. "He needs to be in a hospital that cherishes life over the bottom line. After around-the-clock negotiations, this really became a race against time", he told Life News. "If there is a chance this boy can live, we have to explore every option."
Baby Joseph suffers from a progressive neurological disease which has left him in a vegetative state. He won't recover, but his parents are hoping that a tracheotomy will allow him to die peacefully at home, instead of violently choking in a hospital.
