Heh: First Returns From Wisconsin's Recount Net Hillary Clinton...One Vote

We've been saying all along that the system wasn't hacked and that the recount is a colossal waste of time an energy -- so this little data point shouldn't come as a surprise. But it did make me laugh. Remember how Wisconsin's Democratic elections chief explicitly warned that a statewide recount likely wouldn't move the needle much, citing the 2011 recount that shifted a whopping total of 300 tallies?  That was a sage admonition, it seems. Hillary needs to overcome a deficit of more than 22,000 votes.  How's that going so far?  Note The DC's final two sentences -- top notch trolling:

The first results to emerge suggest the final tally will be rather close to the original one. Only Menominee County, home to the Menominee Indian Reservation, fully reported its recounted results on the first day. It found 17 extra votes for Stein and 12 for Libertarian Gary Johnson, while removing two votes from Trump and one from Clinton. When putting all the results together, that means the first day of the recount narrowed the gap between Clinton and Trump by just a single vote. At her current pace, Clinton will overtake Trump in Wisconsin in approximately 74 and a half years. Unfortunately, the recount is expected to last just two weeks.

We speculated earlier in the week that Team Hillary's motivation for playing along with Jill Stein's absurd recall charade isn't rational at all; they just still have no idea how to process the reality that yes, they lost to Donald Trump.  But joining such a foolish, impulsive misadventure would suggest that they're not taking the defeat very well.  Last night's melee at Harvard confirms that assumption. Yikes:

Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri condemned Bannon, who previously ran Breitbart, a news site popular with the alt-right, a small movement known for espousing racist views. “If providing a platform for white supremacists makes me a brilliant tactician, I am proud to have lost,” she said. “I would rather lose than win the way you guys did.” Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s campaign manager, fumed: “Do you think I ran a campaign where white supremacists had a platform?” “You did, Kellyanne. You did,” interjected Palmieri, who choked up at various points of the session. “Do you think you could have just had a decent message for white, working-class voters?” Conway asked. “How about, it’s Hillary Clinton, she doesn’t connect with people? How about, they have nothing in common with her? How about, she doesn’t have an economic message?”

Palmieri also blamed the media (it's okay, have another belly laugh), while campaign manager Robby Mook griped, "we were punished for telling the truth."  Yes, that actually came out of the mouth of Hillary Clinton's campaign manager.  She is, you may recall, an inveterate liar who earned her reputation as perhaps the least trusted major party nominee in modern American history -- with the 2016 electorate deeming her dishonest by a 25-point margin.  Hillary's leading lights believe she failed, at least in part, because of the press and their gosh-darned honesty.  Denial is a hell of a drug.  Speaking of which:

Amusingly, approximately 100 percent of these same people were no doubt "horrified" by Trump's "rigged" rhetoric and refusal to guarantee that he'd accept the election results. Will the Left learn a single constructive lesson from this defeat? Good luck with this guy at the helm:
