The difference is that the basic tenets of islam which all muslims claim to believe calls for the death or conversion of all the people of the world. Therefore, islamists believe that anyone who refuses to accept their position should be killed or enslaved. This is exactly the same as the Soviets, Maoists, and NAZIs taught, and it lead to the "final solution in each of those governments and millions of people who refused to believe were murdered in each case.

Portraying Muslims as they actually are with their beliefs held out to be viewed is not calling for their death or for mass murder.

Islam needs to offer an alternative to radicalism that is appealing to Muslims. Materialism and Christianity don't cut it.
