This was too easy. After watching Michelle's appearance on GMA this morning telling Robin Roberts that "Let's Move" is not Big Government, I knew all I had to do was wait until her next scheduled television appearance on the "View" to hear an opposing statement. Just like her husband, rhetoric can't hide reality nor the heart and muscle behind their personal (read: Big Government) agendas.

Note too how--like her husband--she takes personal credit for all the "change".

Let me translate Powell's answer:

I just want to be liked by everyone so I will hem and haw about how each candidate has a chance to win; therefore, Americans will continue to see me as a "thoughtful" non-partisan, but I know just like Obama knew his same-sex marriage position that I will endorse the black guy just like I did in 2008.

Another great piece by Lee Habeeb over the National Review showing how the king and the queen are falling prey to their phony identities. Give Americans time and they will reject a fraud. Here's a bite from Habeeb's piece:

http://www.black-and-right.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Oprah-Obama.jpgShe [Oprah] thought she was big enough, smart enough, and rich enough to be all things to all people. She thought her audience was either too in love with her to care — or too stupid to notice.

When you get as big as Oprah, you start to think you’re too big to fail.

And when you are loved by the media the way Oprah was loved, it only makes it easier to believe you can do no wrong, and harder to hear the sound of the audience tuning out.

Which brings me to Barack Obama, because in many ways his bid for reelection is ripe for an erosion of support for similar reasons.

CLYBURN (D-SC): "Here we're talking about something that makes absolutely no sense. If we didn't have a debt ceiling, what would we be saying then? So this legislation doesn't have any real meaning except that it is legislation that we've opposed on ourselves and should not even be there in the first place."

Bernie Marcus, co-founder of Home Depot and a founding member of the Job Creator's Alliance, had a great op-ed in this morning's Investor's Business Daily. From the piece:

http://endoftheamericandream.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Bush-Obama-Clinton.jpg

President Clinton required government agencies to better account for the cost of regulations, worked with Congress to reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens on banks, championed free trade agreements and liberalized regulations on airlines. The result? Over 22 million jobs created, a budget surplus and a slowdown in the rate of growth of the federal debt.

One of the key points President Clinton makes about his tenure in office is that he was able to engender support among the business community because he didn't attack them for their success. President Obama should take some lessons from this approach.

This is the heart of the Utopian spirit: Give us tomorrow and we'll make it better--we'll give you a "solution." Therefore, 6000 years of marriage history is called "radical" by people wanting to radically change the definition of marriage.

This adolescent way of looking at the world was something I experienced while working at a video store right after high school. When a customer walked through the doors and turned to me asking: "Is there anything good?" I knew what they meant. They didn't want something "good" they wanted to know if this week's hot new release was in stock. Sometimes for the fun of it I would suggest a great classic film they never could have seen and they just gave me a weird look. By definition, the adolescent mind sees new as good and exciting and old as bad and boring. Try applying liberal policies to this model and you will see what I mean. In the liberal mind, the question is not whether an idea, policy, or law is good or it actually works, but the right question is is it new, exciting, and different.
