After 'Demented' Comments, Fiorina Tells The Ladies of 'The View' She Has 'Thick Skin'

After 'Demented' Comments, Fiorina Tells The Ladies of 'The View' She Has 'Thick Skin'

They called her "demented" and said she would make a great "Halloween mask," yet Republican presidential contender Carly Fiorina wasn't afraid to confront the ladies of "The View" Friday morning on the ABC talk show.

Perhaps anticipating that her appearance would intrigue viewers, the program chose to interview her at the top of the hour. She had a couple of minutes to explain why she wants to be president, yet Fiorina had to spend the remainder of her 15 minutes addressing the feud.

When Joy Behar, owner of the "Halloween mask" insult, said she is sick of being told certain politicians are off limits from her comedic humor, an unfazed Fiorina said Behar is welcome to use her freedom of speech.

"You can say whatever you want," she said. "Don't worry, I have thick skin."

Yet, the presidential candidate suggested they learn to work out their animosity peacefully.

"I think we need to be able to have civil conversations in this country about our differences," she said.

Unfortunately, that kind of civility was often lacking at "The View" coffee table. For instance, when Fiorina tried to explain how women deserve better than Planned Parenthood and its harvesting of baby parts, Whoopi Goldberg immediately interrupted her to suggest she was making it up. She wasn't

In the most misleading question of the interview, Goldberg asked Fiorina if she is equipped to handle "humor," suggesting Fiorina had blown their jokes out of proportion.

Of course, comedians can tell jokes. The problem, however, was that "The View's" hypocrisy has been exposed as a result of this feud. Behar, for instance, defended Fiorina when Donald Trump told viewers to "look at that face." Now, Behar is the one attacking the conservative woman's appearance.

In a last bit of irony, Fox News' Martha MacCullum noted that on Thursday's taping of "The View," the hosts criticized women who attack other women.
