New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) joined Hillary Clinton cheerleader - I mean ABC's "This Week" host George Stephanopolous - to offer his feedback on Hillary Clinton's first major campaign rally in New York Saturday. He wasn't impressed.
“Mrs. Clinton doesn’t hear from anybody, she doesn’t talk to anybody, she doesn’t take questions from anybody,” Christie said in an exclusive interview on ABC's "This Week." “How would she know what real Americans are concerned about?”
Considering Hillary and husband Bill have amassed millions of dollars in speaking fees alone, it seemed like a fair question from the governor. The loaded former Secretary of State has been all but silent when it comes to the press, finally answering her first question after 41,000-minute hiatus. As for any reporter who dares to address her, prepare to be mocked and dismissed. Woman of the people, indeed.
Stephanopolous quickly changed the subject to grill Christie about his stance on immigration, Social Security, ISIS and, of course, "Bridgegate."
"You still have more than half of Republicans in New Jersey according to a recent poll, saying you haven't been completely honest. What do you say to them and other potential supporters who are worried about this issue?"
Christie calmly responded that three independent investigations, including one led by a Democratic partisan legislature, have all come to the same conclusion: He had nothing to do with it.
"I think it's time to move on."
When it comes to a tête-à-tête with Hillary, Christie is confident he can win. Citing his record as a successful Republican governor in a deep blue state, Christe argued his bipartisan leadership is what puts him ahead of the crowded presidential pack.
As for why he has not yet entered the 2016 field, Christie says he's trying to focus on his 'day job.'
