If You Think McCain Is Old . . .

A fellow Democrat, Rep. Rob Andrews, is challenging New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg, making an issue of Lautenberg's age.  Lautenberg would be 91 at the end of his next term, and he's the third oldest guy in the Senate.  Even so, he's gotten the endorsement of the Democratic establishment, including NJ Governor Jon Corzine.

Obviously, there are differences between being senator and being president -- one of a hundred versus the only one.  That being said, can the Democrat establishment really tell Andrews that the age issue doesn't matter . . . and then turn around and deploy it against McCain -- who's fully 20 years younger than Lautenberg would be at the end of his next term?
